Surrounding nature

Eastern Algarve also called  Sotavento (leeward) a  term of nautical origin referring to the ship's side where the wind blows

With the Atlantic Ocean in your back, looking to the North, you can see the start of the ridge with the Monte Sao Miguel and Serro de Cabeça, they provide an excellent view of the East Algarve, and are the first hills of the Serra do Caldeirão.

Instead of the wide beaches you will find a complete different landscape. The barrocas region offers spectacular views of carob and almond trees, cork oaks, orchards with citrus fruit trees and big rocks. When you want to discover it all, follow (a part of) the Via Algarviana, a walking route for 300 km across the inland of the Algarve. But of course we can provide you also with all kind of trails throughout the region.

The Eastern Algarve is rather unspoiled, rural and more authentic especially in comprehension with the Central and West Algarve, the most visited regions. The beaches are wide and untouched, you can easily find a private place.

Our holiday rental Bela Vista Fuseta apartment is the perfect start for your voyage of discovery the nature of the East Algarve.
